About Wesston

US Marine Corps

I proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps as an 0331 Infantry Machine Gunner, deploying to multiple countries throughout the Middle East and later to Okinawa, Japan, while developing expertise in machine gun operations and small-unit tactics. My military experience taught me discipline, leadership, and problem-solving skills that continue to guide me in my academic and professional pursuits today.

Leg Amputation

Following a serious motorcycle accident, I was left with paralysis in my right leg, forcing me to overcome one of the greatest challenges of my life. After years of perseverance and recovery, I made the difficult decision to undergo a right leg amputation in June 2026, an experience that strengthened my resilience and determination to keep moving forward.

"Only part of this medal belongs to me. Pieces of it belong to the boys who are still on Guadalcanal."
